prime transportation
for individuals over 60
Prime transportation, formerly ARK, provides hundreds of people with necessary trips to doctor appointments, dialysis and other errands in Butler County. Daytime transportation service is a vital need for adult children who are typically working during the day and are torn between helping mom or dad and focusing on their careers. In a County with severely limited public transportation options, prime transportation often makes the difference between dependence and independence for older adults. Prime transportation enhances peoples' lives, helping them remain independent in their own homes where many choose to stay, as long as is practical.

history of prime transportation
Prime transportation, formerly ARK, began in 1972. It was first designed and operated by volunteers from a group of churches in Hamilton and was originally named after Noah’s Ark. When the service began, volunteers transported people in their personal cars to medical appointments. Expansion of the program occurred slowly adding first a passenger van and then a lift van. Transportation then began to be offered for non-medical trips.
In 1983, ARK was added to the Partners In Prime (formerly Senior Citizens Inc.) family. Today, Partners in Prime transportation's fleet of five vans and one station wagon serves southern Butler County and makes over 20,000 trips per year.
